The Slovenian Small Animal Veterinary Association (SiSAVA) is inviting you to attend the virtual Webinar – Neurology on 15th of January 2022.
Every small animal practitioner will be confronted with dogs and cats presenting with seizures or seizure-like symptoms. Some patients are straight forward, others are more challenging, both in diagnostic work up and in therapy.
This webinar will focus on the diagnosis of both idiopathic and structural epilepsy but also the diagnosis of reactive seizures. An update on this newer terminology will be presented together with a discussion on other differential diagnosis like paroxysmal dyskinesias. The diagnostic work up consisting of blood work and advanced imaging techniques such as CT and MRI of the brain will be reviewed. Following the diagnosis of seizures, the basic principles of treating dogs and cats with seizures will be presented, based on the consensus proposal of the International Veterinary Epilepsy Task Force and updated with recent literature.
This webinar will be divided in 4 lectures
1/ Theory of the diagnosis of seizures in dogs and cats
2/ Repetition of diagnosing seizures based on clinical cases
3/ Theory of the therapy of seizures in dogs and cats
4/ Repetition of treating dogs and cats with seizures based on clinical cases
